Product Review: Libobond

It is no big secret that my favourite foods includes pizza and anything else with cheese. Lots of cheese! But, as you know, foods like that is actually not that good for you, and they're loaded with fats, oils and calories!

Now, since I started with the Herbalife products, my whole view about food has changed. I'm still crazy about stuff like pizza, cheesy pasta and good old fashioned deep fried fish and chips, but with what I learned over the past few months is to know how to enjoy these foods.

I was in a vicious cycle before where I had a few pizzas almost every other day, and it was starting to take its toll. But now, I've made the decision to cut back a bit, and only enjoy the foods I love (especially the more unhealthy ones hehe) every now and again - and I've actually found that I do enjoy having those foods a lot more!

There was still the issue of getting in more fats and oils in than I'm supposed to, but luckily Herbalife has an amazing fibre supplement called Lipobond:

I'm not going to bore you with the details of how it works, but what I want to share is that it "bonds" with between 25 and 30% of the oils and fats in the food you're consuming, helping it pass through your system instead of being absorbed and stored as love-handles or muffin tops! ;)

Sounds too good to be true hey? Well, I actually tried a little experiment once - I added some regular cooking oil to a glass of water, and then crushed two Lipobond tablets, and added it to the glass. In mere seconds the powder bonded with the oil, and it sunk to the bottom.

Now, I know that also sounds too good to be true, so I've decided to make a little video about it:

Please excuse the qualify of the clip, I used my cellphone...

Anyway, now we always have our Lipo handy when we go out to a restaurant, and also, my wife, Natalie, reports that her stomach doesn't give her issues like cramps when she takes her Lipobond.

In the end, it just helps a lot for us to take the Lipobond when we eat out, so we don't have to feel too guilty for splurging a bit more than we should ;)

Herbalife is not expensive

A few people have told me thus far that they find Herbalife is a bit on the expensive side, and I must be honest, before I became a distributor, I also thought that. But, if you break it all down, and look at it a bit differently, you'll see a different picture altogether...

For example, the Formula 1 Meal Replacement Shake costs R343, and that gives you 30 servings. That works out to just R11.44 per serving! (Doesn't include the liquid you mix it with...)

And, have a look at the chart below:

(click on the above image to make it larger)

As you can see, a single serving of the Formula 1 shake gives you the following nutritional contents:
  • Same amount of Vitamin A as 120 grams Cheddar Cheese
  • Same amount of Vitamin C as 100 grams Boiled Cabbage
  • Same amount of Vitamin D as 50 grams Tuna
  • Same amount of Vitamin E as 50 grams dry roasted Cashew Nuts
  • Same amount of Vitamin B6 as 100 grams cooked Lentils
  • Same amount of Vitamin B12 as 2 Raw Eggs
  • Same amount of Calcium as 80 grams Tofu
  • Same amount of Zinc as 85 grams cooked Crab
  • Same amount of Magnesium as 248ml Carrot Juice
  • Same amount of Iron as 155 grams Cooked Beef Steak
  • Same amount of Potassium as 100 grams cooked Soya Beans
  • Same amount of Copper as 1 Avocado
  • Same amount of Selenium as 90 grams cooked Liver
  • Same amount of Dietery Fibre as 4 slices of Wholemeal Bread
All of that awesome nutrition is packed into just 217 calories, is great tasting, and costs you less than R11.50 per serving. Herbalife is not expensive at all, there's no other product on the market that will give you such good nutrition, and awesome value for money!
